Springboard celebrates National Waiters’ Day

By Berenice, Wednesday 27 August 2014

On Thursday 25 September 2014 Springboard’s National Waiters’ Day will celebrate all front of house and service staff across the hospitality industry - whether a waiter, a mixologist or a barista - for their hard work and dedication to the profession.

The day aims to change the perception of ‘the world of waiting’ and inspire people about embarking on fulfilling careers in hospitality with good progression routes and great rewards.

A Waiters Race is being held on this day in Hyde Park at 4.00PM. Participants will take on the ‘dash’ through Hyde Park whilst battling to keep a glass and bottle of water on their tray, all the way to the finish line. All proceeds raised from race entries will go towards an educational programme for schools, developed by Springboard, to inspire and educate students looking to start a career in front of house and the hospitality industry.

Hospitality businesses can get involved by arranging their own events or activities to showcase the profession throughout the year or around National Waiters’ Day.
