The impact of Brexit on the foodservice and hospitality industry has been a constant topic of debate ever since the referendum result was announced. On the morning of Friday 30 September, during the Arena Face2Face Interview & Lunch 2016, a panel of industry experts will discuss core questions and share their thoughts on possible outcomes.
Chaired by James Bielby, the CEO of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, areas to be considered by the panel include:
- Managing recruitment if the labour pool shrinks and the potential impact of a skills shortage
- Possible outcomes and their effect – e.g. reduction in consumer spending on eating out, fluctuation in exchange rates, economic downturn
- How will potential cuts in funding affect the industry?
- The impact on food imports and exports
- How will food prices be affected?
